Zaxby’s is a restaurant chain focused on chicken dishes.
Zaxby’s restaurants
In 1990, Zaxby’s got its start in Georgia. It now has 900 restaurants in 19 southern states. Most are owned and operated as franchises. 123 are owned by the Zaxby’s company.
The company was founded by childhood friends Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley when Zach was a student at the University of Georgia. In 1994, the company branched out of Georgia with a store in Kentucky. By 2013, it opened its first store outside of the southeastern U.S. in Utah.
Zaxby’s menu
Zaxby’s menu emphasizes chicken dishes. They include sandwiches, chicken fingers, chicken wings, salads, and appetizers.
The menu includes a variety of dipping sauces ranging from mild to hot (Nuclear) with Zax Sauce in between.
Zaxby’s reward program
Zaxby’s has had loyalty programs in the past where loyal customers are rewarded with points with each purchase. The accumulated points can be redeemed for free menu items.
In October 2022, Zaxby’s enhanced its loyalty programs with the introduction of Zax Rewardz. The new program is administered by a new downloadable app.
Existing and new customers will receive a free Big Zax Snak simply for downloading the app. The Big Zax Snak meal includes three Chicken Fingerz, Texas Toast, Zax Sauce, Crinkle Fries, Ranch sauce, and a small Coke.
After downloading the app, customers will earn points at the rate of 10 points per $1 spent. Accumulated points are redeemable for a variety of items from Zaxby’s extensive menu.
