RAINN has had a long history of providing innovative and effective support for victims of sexual assault and their families. RAINN works closely with civilian service providers who support military survivors, providing special training modules which cover military structure and culture, the transition process, and the additional needs of survivors leaving the military. Furthermore, Safe Helpline provides specialized self-paced modules with practical advice and resources for victims, civilian service providers and those looking to support their friends or family members.
Recently, RAINN supported two high profile legal cases, one was that of Deshaun Watson and the other was one of Harvey Weinstein. Both of these cases highlighted the importance of combating sexual violence and RAINN provided crucial support. Through their advocacy, RAINN sends a powerful message that victims of sexual violence are to be taken seriously and that perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions.
In support of its efforts and mission, RAINN recently welcomed a new Board Member, Jamila Sykes.
