Miki Agrawal is a passionate, approachable and hardworking entrepreneur and author. She has written books on her success and what a young entrepreneur would need to be successful. As a businesswoman, she can be described as aggressive, a disrupter, and focused on following her path. Her key to success is not always being conventional and attempting to do cool things. After all, business is measured in profits and not appearance.
Based on her success, it is evident that she has realized and utilized the power of giving back to society. This has been an integral part of her business. At first, it was her launching farm-to-table pizza joint, WILD, in the West Village. This joint enabled New Yorkers to eat and support their local farmers simultaneously. After that, she partnered with Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos, to launch the Social Entrepreneurship Fund, which provided funds to promote social enterprises in the US and abroad.
Thinx is her latest venture, a lifestyle apparel line providing period panties to needy women. Through this project, Miki Agrawal has helped many girls from developing countries access sanitary products that allow them to attend school regularly throughout their menstrual cycles.
Miki’s company Thinx also donates funds to an organization in Uganda. This organization provides washable and reusable sanitary products to women in rural areas. This speaks volumes of Miki’s urge t invest in the unthinkable and find her niche in the unmentionables.
