Don Manifold is originally from Mount Gambier, a small South Australian city. He began his career in Adelaide. He has worked in several places, including Melbourne, Sydney, and London, before making Adelaide his home again.
Currently, Don Manifold is the Joint Managing Director of Equity & Advisory. Equity & Advisory is a corporate advisory firm in South Australia. Manifold has over 30 years of experience in the finance industry, with 25 years in corporate finance. Throughout his years in business, Manifold has helped many companies in different industries, including agriculture, technology, professional services, and financial services.
When Manifold took the position at Equity & Advisory, the company was already 21 years old. However, from the years 17 to 21, the company was not active. His job was to kick start the business. Manifold and his team concluded that their goal was to create wealth for their clients.
Creating wealth for their clients starts a chain reaction allowing everyone to benefit. Manifold explains that if their clients have wealth, their communities will have wealth.
Communities that are generating wealth have lower levels of poverty. Also, education is usually better in these communities, women are in a better position, crime is lower, and there are excellent opportunities for all. It is still not a perfect system. However, wealthier communities are fairer and more inclusive.
By making wealthy communities, Manifold is also creating wealth for his team. His team improves their skills, which leads to more money. In return, this leads to success.
