With CEO Alejandro Pena at its helm, Keter Green Spaces continues its drive to promote sustainability as an environmentally friendly company. The company manufactures outdoor furniture and storage solutions. It uses Evotech, a recyclable composite material, to construct its products.
Alejandro Pena is committed to the company’s mission of being a leader in sustainability and protecting the environment. He established the Keter Green Spaces Initiative to educate communities and inspire them to seek green solutions. Keter recently demonstrated its sustainability and education commitment by donating twenty-five items to upgrade the gardens at North Miami Elementary School. The donation was part of a joint project with the Food Forests for Schools Initiative. Food Forests creates vegetable gardens as outdoor classrooms for the Miami Dade Public School System. A Food Forest, built with Keter Green Spaces, was set up at North Miami Elementary on May 2, 2022. Keter provided raised garden beds, which keep the gardens weed free and provides better drainage and warmer soil for the plants. Also donated were storage units, deck boxes, and colorful all-weather furniture. The garden was given as a gift to teachers and launched as a special event during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Educators will use the garden at North Miami Elementary to teach students about botany and where their food comes from, nutrition, biology, and environmental stewardship. The project aims to engage the students in an outdoor activity promoting a lifelong respect for the environment and a love of nature. Alejandro Pena is committed to that educational message. He stands by his company’s commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly business practice. Pena takes pride in leading a green company because it is the right thing to do.
